    Hi

Which Windows version you using and is it fully upto date?

Have you scanned for malware and was any found?

Have you tried Internet Explorer or another browser in lieu of Firefox?

Did you install any new software just before this happened, if so what?

What you could do is do a winter clean of your PC, following this advice here > Basic computer maintenance everyone should do then try the internet again.

If you have a software firewall and not the built in Windows one, disable it to test its not your firewall blocking the browser.

I'm using windows xp and i believe that it is up to date.

I ran that ccleaner and it got rid of some stuff, but when i try and use my Norton 360, it won't run

I tried opening up internet explorer and that wont work either

and i've tried that winter clean up thing and nothings working

    Hi

If you plug your PC directly using an ethernet cable to the modem/router can you connect?

With information posted I would likely be suspecting malware could be the cause so please run the below and start a new thread in malware forum and attach the logs requested.

    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

    Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can running steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.

plus a guide on how to attach the logs HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post

Once finished please start a new thread in the Malware Forum plus a guide on how to attach the logs HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post

After these are attached our malware experts will review these to see if your OK, if not they will issue you some further removal instructions.
