    Hi Guys,

    First of all may I say thanks if anyone can help me out here. I keep getting "page load error" Web page cannot be found in Firefox and unable to display this page in I.E 7.

    Although then sometimes the pages come up! This happens in both the url area and the google search.

    I have followed the malware instructions
    deleted all uncessary programs, run spybot, malware, superantispyware, cc cleaner, combofix, mgtools couldnt get the rootcleaner though.

    spybot found a trojan virtumonde and removed it

    Still I ahve this problem, have laso cleared the dns cache just dont know what to do now.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Important Notice: A new version of SUPERAntiSpyware is out.
    • Please uninstall your current version (this is necessary).

    • Install this new version. It may tell you that you need to reboot to complete the installation. You must reboot at this time.
    • After the reboot, run SUPERAntiSpyware and immediately click the Check for Updates button to get more updates for the database.

    That's because this is the same old log from the old version of the program. You need to do what Kestrel13! requested and uninstall the old version. Then install the new version and run a new scan. Attach the new log.

    1. Before we continue on I would like for you to put your machine into normal start up mode as requested per step 1 of the R&R

    2. Please go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the following softwares:
    • HijackThis 1.99.1 ---> out of date
    • VideoEgg Publisher ---> if you have trouble uninstalling this from Add/Remove let me know and we go about it a different way.

    3. Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

    Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix exit HJT.

    4. Now we need to use ComboFix to tidy up remnants from AVG8 and kill off a couple dead BHO's...

    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
    • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it
    (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    Code:

    KILLALL::

    Driver::
    AvgLdx86
    AvgTdiX
    avg8wd

    File::
    c:\windows\system32\avgrsstx.dll
    c:\windows\system32\drivers\avgldx86.sys
    c:\windows\system32\drivers\avgmfx86.sys
    c:\windows\system32\drivers\avgtdix.sys
    C:\Documents and Settings\Laurie Ann\CWMC0000.tmp
    C:\Documents and Settings\Laurie Ann\CWMC0001.tmp
    C:\Documents and Settings\Laurie Ann\CWMC0002.tmp

    Folder::
    c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\avg8
    c:\documents and settings\Guest\Application Data\AVGTOOLBAR
    c:\documents and settings\Laurie Ann\Application Data\AVGTOOLBAR

    Regsitry::
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{3CA2F312-6F6E-4B53-A66E-4E65E497C8C0}]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{5C255C8A-E604-49b4-9D64-90988571CECB}]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
    "AVG8_TRAY"=-

    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe

      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif

    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    5. Also delete all files in the below bold folders except ones from the current date (Windows will not let you delete the files from the current day).

    6. Now go to this link Using MGTools and download the new version of MGtools.exe using the black bold print link in the first sentence. Overwrite your previous MGtools.exe file with this one.

    7. Run the new MGTools and attach the C:\Mglogs.zip that it generates

    8. Let us know of any problems you may have encountered with the above instructions and also let me know how things are running now.

    Any issues that still remain with your browsers will have to be worked out in the software forum as it is not a malware problem.

    Did you follow Chaslang's message #14 regarding the new version of SAS? I still would like to see a log from that :)

    And Please ensure that your PC is in NORMAL mode. You are using MSCONFIG to control start up's and you shouldn't be as it is a troubleshooting tool. To control start-up's you should use a start up manager.
