Can't add an album to iTunes

I'm trying to add an album to iTunes. I've tried all the possible methods of adding it (add folder; add file; drag into window) & when I do nothing happens at all. No error message, the cursor doesn't switch to the little blue "busy" symbol or anything.

I've tried renaming the files & moving them.
They work fine in WMP (they're mp3s btw).
I have all the appropriate permissions to access them.
If I try adding any other file to iTunes, it works with no problem.

I'm using the latest version of iTunes on Vista Home Premium.

Any ideas?

 

Hi there you say that you can drag and drop ad install other files to itunes, i'm not trying to teach somebody something that they may already know, but sometimes it's the simple things you miss, have you checked the filepath or the file type of the file your trying to copy it may be different from the others.

 

Filepath & type should be no problem.

Not sure what ID version they are, but I've edited with Vista's in-explorer editor which I assume uses the most recent. It lets me enter a custom genre, so it's not the old version, which only lets you choose from a certain list.
