I did some things in safe mode earlier today. Then I got a bunch of updates from Windows which installed and among them was n-Vidia-NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE. It shows successfull install.

So I wanted to go back into Safe Mode and I couldn't because the monitor won't display. I get a black screen with: Auto Detect(Analog Input); Cannot Display This Video Mode; Optimum resolution 1680 x 1050 60 Hz. I tried 3 times and 3 times had to force shutdown. It boots fine in normal mode.

I could find no place to uninstall this item. I looked in Add/Remove. It isn't there. So I went into it in Device Manager and rolled back. However it still shows as installed in Windows Update. Then tried to boot into Safe Mode again and same story. I have no idea what could have changed between earlier today and all evening. That newly installed NVIDIA item is still on the computer somewhere, but I would have thought rolling back in Device Manager should have done the trick.

Can anyone offer any help? Please. :confused

I would go into normal mode and uninstall your video card. When prompted say yes to uninstall the drivers and reboot.

See if it redetects your hardware and installs the drivers then try safe mode again.

You could also pull up the nVidia control panel and check your screen resolution there to see if you can ratchet it down a bit.

I am no techie, so what do I do if it doesn't reinstall my drivers?

I read something about enabling VGA but don't know where it is, how to do it? I also don't know how to pull up the nVidia control panel. I know what my screen resolution is now, the same as it's always been, 1280x800. How do I pull up this panel? If I set resolution way down could I possibly boot into safe mode?

I received another big, long reply to this which doesn't appear here and it is like a goofy story. It was from a tim@majorgeeks and here's what it said. Should I report this or something and if so, where to I go to do it?

One morning a week ago, he came to me and asked if he could be of help. Actually I had been worrying about my course of this semester for days since I hadn't got any English courses yet! Still I was totally caught off guard by Aero's offer though he had always been kind. I thought it was my own business and it had never occurred to me that some other individual would offer to help with my selecting the courses. So I declined his kindness. The very next day, I got a cough and it later turned out to be a four-day high fever. In those days, I was extremely weak and lay in bed all day long and hardly had any strength even to eat. I lost the power to keep an eye on the possible vacancies of the English courses ever since I got a high fever. ugg classic short ugg boots UGG Bailey Button Triplet I began
to regret declining Aero's offer. Just at that moment, Aero called, asking about my health and told me to have a good rest, saying that he would shoulder the responsibility of selecting my English courses for me. Now I am writing this article as the homework of this writing course and I'd like to re emphasize that it is all due to my friend's effort that I have finally made it.:-D:-D

    Hi

If that story was sent to you as a email reply as to a thread like this you started as you have subscribed to a thread, it was spam and ignore it as it has nothing to do with your issue, the email address from majorgeeks.com is real but will only send from that account if you subscribe to a thread of yours or someone elses. *subcribed threads for your own posts are automatic unless via the CP, Control Panel you turn them off*

as for your issue try this and your Nvidia GFX card driver is HERE

Do also once finished mention what devices in Device Manager have yellow ! marks by them?

But how do we know I'm going to be able to get into safe mode?

I uninstalled the Nvidia GeForce 7300 LE by right clicking on it from within Device Manager. Then I rebooted and after it reinstalled automatically. Then I rebooted again, and then rebooted and tried Safe Mode. Still getting the same thing.
