Ok Ive got XP PRO and i have instructions microsoft sent me (3. Run reset5setup.exe(located in \tools) in safe mode to disable activation in non-corporate installs of Windows XP and 2003.... First of all.. I tryed searching for reset5setup.exe but i cannot find it, i have also tryed searching for the folder tools but cannot find it either.... I know how to get into safe mode(f8 at start up) but when i try it it comes to a black screen saying SafeMode in all four corners and My Windows version on top..... then it goes to user select screen... If i click either users it just reboots itself... if i dont click anything... it still reboots...

    Little Help Please???

Its located in the /tools/ folder of your cd - prolly not on the drive itself. Perhaps try to boot to a command prompt and run it from the cd? Havent tried that before but the worst that can happen is it will complain.

Now idea why the os would reboot at login - perhaps the reset will fix it. Perhaps a repair is in order.
