Just clean installed win 98. Then updated via the windows update. All working well... almost.

Installed static tcp/ip for 98's NIC and connected to an XP computer via crossover cable. XP's NIC is also static IP.

98 can ping XP and XP can ping 98. XP can see 98 in Network Neighbourhood. 98 can use the internet as a client of a third party ICS server on XP.

BUT can't browse the network from Network Neighbourhood on 98. It can't even see itself. Click on Entire Network and get error message saying can't browse network.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks Dins
