Can't Burn DVD

I am trying to burn a iso image using nero 7. I keep getting various error message. I don't get too far into the burning process when this happens. I've tried burning data dvds, and still won't work. In the past I have been able to burn data dvds. I can burn CDs, but I can't burn any kind of dvds. I got some iso images I really need to access. Thanks for the help. I know I am a private in this here outfit. The most frequent error mesg. is "Blank check command error." I am using Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-104. I kNOW it is old. I am going to try to attach the burn log. Thanks

First things I'd try would be to apply the Microsoft DVD fix, make sure both Nero and the Pioneer firmware are up-to-date, and to try a lens cleaning tool of some sort - I've seen several posts in other forums about this error being caused by a dirty lens...

 

not sure if this will help, but I have had problems in the past burning media as well. However, I found that it was the speed at which I was trying to burn. I slowed the burn speed down, and everything seems to be ok. for now!

 

Try a different brand of disc or a different batch. Sometimes, you'll get a bad batch of discs.
