Cant burn DVDs.. help

Every time I tried to burn a dvd, I got the following error msg (.txt attachment).

I've burned a lot of DVDs before and never encountered this kind of problem. This started after I bought a new set of DVD disc. I'm sure the disc isnt faulty because I already tried at the store and it worked fine over there. Not my DVD burner either since I used my old DVD disc and it worked perfectly fine. Also, the DVDs that arent working are -R type. All I've ever used are -R.

I usually use Nero to burn and my burner is TDK-DVDRW880N.

Simple guess is that you burner does not like the brand of blank discs you bought. If your regular brand works in the burner than I think you just have to cut your losses on that pack of blanks.

 

Brand matters?

I exchanged it for another brand today and it still gave me the same error message.

 

Think about updating the firmware if you haven't already got the lastest.

I'm only guessing but since it seems to be exactly timed to new discs it is most likely. The firmware update is from TDK so it couldn't hurt.

 

I've updated it from version 1.31 to 1.36, but the problem is still there.

Again, I tried with the old discs and they are fine.

 

What kind of disks are they?

DVD + R, DVD - R, DVD-Ram, etc.

 

It's DVD -R.

I've always used this type of disc even in the past.
