can't click my mouse buttons, not sure what's casuing this

    for some reason my mouse clicks are sluggish. If I click on links on my desktop and also links when browsing the net with firefox, they do not respond immdediately and I have to reclick them. There is no pattern as to how many times I have to reclick, sometimes it's once other times it might be 4-5 times.

    what can cause this?

    I have vista and am using norton 360.

    can anyone help? I have tried system restore but it will only let me restore from up to a 24 hour period, so I tried the oldest restore point but it has not helped.

    Have you tried a different mouse? Is it an infrared or wireless mouse? Have you changed the batteries?
