Can't Click on Links in E-mails

I've been trying to solve this one for awhile but no luck. I cannot click on links in emails in Outlook Express or AOL, all of the settings for both programs are set to ALLOW me to click on links however, I can't. And I know all about the copy and paste thing. That works fine for links that are typed out but occasionally I'll get an email that says "click here" to do what ever. I can't click there and I can't copy and paste a "button". So, I'm forced to have my mouse hover over the button and write down the whole link, which is usually very long, and then type it into whichever browser I'm using. Any ideas on how to finally fix this would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Try the steps below, see if it solves the link problem.

1. Quit all programs that are running.
2. Click Start, and then click Run.
3. Type regsvr32 urlmon.dll, and then click OK.
4. When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded" message, click OK.

If this does not resolve the problem, repeat steps 2 through 4 for each of the following files (in step 3, replace Urlmon.dll with each of the file names below):

• Shdocvw.dll
• Msjava.dll
• Actxprxy.dll
• Oleaut32.dll
• Mshtml.dll
• Browseui.dll
• Shell32.dll

Windows XP and Windows 2000 only
Restart the computer to enable the changes to take effect.

Also, are these truly links? They may look like them. Perhaps someone has a setting in outlook express that converts on incoming emails to text (which strips away the html that links use).

 

HTML settings.....?? I believe it may be under "TOOLS"....or "OPTIONS"...you'll have to look.
