Can't connect to hotmail / MSN / online games + websites

I wouldn't call myself 'stupid' when it comes to computers, but this issue has really got me confused. Essentially I fell asleep with everything working, next day I woke up and it had all gone to pot. Im on a university network and all other computers are experiencing 0 problems... To summarise the problems I have:

- Can't connect to Hotmail
- Can't connect to MSN (program)
- Can't connect to Microsoft support
- Can't connect to Some other websites (it seems random e.g MMORPG.com)
- Can't connect to Call of Duty master server (or any other online game)
- Can't connect to Steam

Just from the get go - Winows firewall has always been disabled. I installed panda titanium after the problem started!

WEBSITES
However I can access microsoft/mmorpg.com by simply going through a proxy. However as soon as I try to connect directly I get an error:

''Your request has timed out''

MSN
When I try to logon to MSN I get error code ''80048820''. When I click 'Troubleshoot' It gets stuck on 'Key Ports'.

GAMES
Games simply won't connect. Steam freezes because its badly programmed.

What I have done to try and fix this:

- Installed a new web browser
- Adjust my MTU to normal values
- Install panda titanium anti virus
- Use Ccleaner
- Adjust Browser settings (SSL, direct connect etc)
- Reboot PC 2 billion times
- Turned PC off, unplugged for 2 minutes, then plugged back in
- Error Checked Hard drive
- Used disk cleaner
- Cleared all cookies etc in browser
- Full system scan on Panda, it said it detected some viruses (but it didn't). Most of them were no-cd patches for games. (my disks get scratched)
- System restore
- Some other stuff which I probably can't remember! GAH!

A final note

Thank you to anyone who even attempts to fix this - i am literally being driven up the wall and really need access to my hotmail account!

Uninstalling network drivers, then automatically reinstall when system reboots
Tried running in safe mode with networking

I was looking at an event log, and before the problems started, this update was installed:

I have a similar problem. Im Not able.to access email from my computer only my phone. Cant download any new browsers or software from the net right now. Every download Ive attempted (chrome, malware, firefox) gives me the same error message, that the download has a virus, program deleted and then under more info takes me to a fake windows explorer 11 page. Not sure if you have heard of this one, but please lmk if you have and possible solution? I can access other sites. Jst not dowload other brosers and wont let me access hotmail, Says my password is not correct (but it works on phone access to hotmail and I have reset it).

 

Since it is likely a virus or malware, you should go to the Malware Forum and look at the "Read Me First" post. If this info. does not help you solve the problem, place a new post in the Malware Forum.
