Cant connect to internet

I have a Sony Vaio laptop with Vista and I cant connect to the internet. The computer has had big problems as of late. I had to system restore it a couple times and finally found a recovery disc which I used. I can get to windows now but it wont let me connect. I went to network adapters and under that there is a yellow! by network controller if that helps.

Ok Im really dumb when it comes to this kind of stuff. I probably need the wireless download. I have a USB flash drive. How do you download on to that and then put it on my infected computer?

 

If you know your computer is infected, I would run the scans that are suggested in the Malware Removal Forum first. I would also burn the programs needed to a CD and run them on the infected computer as you do not want to infect your USB flash drive and then possibly infect your other computer when attaching the flash drive. If your only option is a USB flash drive, I would format it before attaching it to a non-infected computer. Make sure no important data is on the flash drive. Formatting it will destroy all data on the drive.

Download the file on your other computer. Copy it to the USB flash drive or burn the file to a CD. Copy the exe to the desktop of an admin account of the sony laptop. Double click the exe file. The instructions for installing are also given on the link I posted.
