   I can connect to the internet in safemode, but not inregular mode. I'm running Windows 2000 Professional using IE6. Any help much appreciated.

   seems to me that there is a program running in the backround cutting off your internet connection. Since, safe mode only runs the necessary programs for windows to function it seems that there is a program cutting off ur net connection
