This is a very strange problem that I started having the other day. I've tried searching the forums and internet for a solution but couldn't find one.

A few days ago I had the same spyware that this person had in this thread
    here

After successfully removing it it seems a few days later that I couldn't connect to any of the shared drives on the computer that had the spyware. This didn't seem to be a problem earlier as I would regularly connect to these drives with the other 2 computers on the network earlier. On the computer with the shared drives, it can still connect to the internet and other shared drives on the network, but other computers cannot connect to its drives.

The message I get when I try to connect to these drives is this:

"The mapped network drive could not be created because the following error has occured:

Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer."

All you can do is click OK after that.

I haven't changed any sort of user settings/accounts on this computer nor have I changed any sort of network settings or settings/permissions on these shared drives. The computers can obviously see each other on the network and they can ping each other. Perhaps the spyware changed something in the registry which is causing this. I have checked all of the firewall and security settings and nothing seems to be obviously out of place. I even tried running the Network Setup Wizard in the control panel to see if it would jog things back into place (by disabling and re-enabling sharing). I even tried removing the network services, protocols and card drivers and reinstalled them to see if that would work. I've tried creating new accounts on this computer for the others to log on with and it didn't work. I even tried uninstalling the Microsoft Antispyware program and Spybot which I recently installed to help detect and remove the spyware mentioned above. None of it seems to work and I'm thinking my only thing left to do is do a fresh re-install.

All three comuters on the network are Pentium 4 class machines running Windows XP Professional SP2. They are going through a Linksys router. To rule the router out as a possible problem, I even tried to connect two of the computers directly together with a crossover cable and I still had the same problem. If anyone can help me solve this problem I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
