can't copy winRAR files to CD

iam trying to copy a winRAR archive containing the program files for sims 2 onto CD. there does nt appear to be anything wrong with the origional files but when i try to open the CD it comes up with ' Read error in the file E:/sims CD 1'. i'm preaty sure its not the drive as it is the same on two different computers. i thought maybe there is a certain way of burning these files to CD ( so far i have burnt them as data files) can anyone help ?

 

I am assuming that this is a legal backup copy of the game you already own.... Is it only with the one winrar archive or is it with any of them? Also, while burning, attempt to verify the written data to make sure there is no corruption of the file going on during the burn process itself.
