I just bought my asus G75V. I've had an unusual amount of problems so far. Drivers messed up my computer, had to do the F8 thing at start up, forgive me, I don't know what that is called.

But this latest problem is even more annoying. I can't create a system restore point because the computer thinks its in safe mode. I have no illegal software nothing, I just got the thing. But I want to create a restore point.

Also, perhaps related to the situation, everytime I start up, it gives me a screen that says "computer is preparing for first time use" even though when it boots its totally normal. and then I get this screen http://i508.photobucket.com/albums/s325/CJMOORE920/Popjpg.png

    Hi simpsonsdirektor.

All other thoughts aside, if the system is brand new, I would take it back to the outlet/store where you purchased it and make them straighten out the problems. (Drivers should have been good to go at purchase.) You should have at least a year's warranty to work with. Make use of it, you paid for it.
Just make sure you have copies or back ups of any information you have put on the computer so far.

Information on the Sysprep tool - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc721940(WS.10).aspx

Sounds like something was not completed in the initial set up of the machine and you are continually rolling into that at each boot up.
Someone else may know a quick fix for that.

Sounds like Windows was not installed correctly. If you don't want to return the computer, I would just reinstall Windows. Make sure that you have a valid product key before you reinstall.
