i recently downloaded the microsoft office 2007 pro and student and home versions off the website and installed them. being the cheap college student i am i decided to try the popular youtube thing and get it "for free" by changing some registry things and stuff like that. i have now decided i want to uninstall it and go and buy the actual version because i can get them for cheap as a college student. when i try to uninstall it, it says setup has missing or corrupt files and cannont proceed. i assume this is from changing the registry values. any idea on how i can manually delete the office 2007 so it will be clean off of mycomputer? thanks

    Hi

    Try this method first http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218/en-us

The try Detect and Repair from any Office App, eg. choose Word and click the Office Orb and then Word Options > Resources option then run Diagnostics.

If those dont work then re-install the Office you downloaded from its Setup file and dont change any registry keys, then try removing it.

*not going to preach but this is the major pitfall of trying to get something for free, will in the end cause more harm and agrivation to you and your PC than is worth it.. here endeth the lesson for today*
