Can't delete some cookies!

Running IE8 XP service pack 3. Have run all options for deleting cookies and 6 will not delete. Have run virus variations, spyware, adware etc. Have deleted other files manually and the same 6 stay. Even went into the file thru windows explorer and deleted files but same 6 stay. This happened once before and I managed to take care of it, but I didn't note the procedure I used. To top things off my Norton System Works can't get past the owner/local settings/ temporary internet files while performing "finding solutions". Help!

Thank you...will take a look at it but I think I tried it before on something else and then it wanted $$ to fix it or am I thinking of something else? Will hit it first thing tomorrow.

 

Its totally free and everyone would say to use it (unless you got some other issues with your computer) then someone would have to check into that. But yes that the top IMO and many others to try.

 

Couldn't figure out which CCleaner to download, but managed to solve the problem. In IE 8 if you use the Delete Browsing History option and leave the Preserve Favorites Website Data checked it will not delete cookies relative to you favorite sites. I unchecked it, ran the scan and checked the temporary internet files folder out and it was clean. Every cookie that was hanging there was gone. Thanks for your help.
