cant detect keyboard/currupt HD

Greetings all,

Here's the problem, take a deep breathe.

My hard drive is corrupt, now windows is unable to load. I then attempted to reinstall windows on a old working hard drive i had, then see if i could access my corrupt hard drive via the freshly installed xp on the new hard drive, only this xp version was in Spanish! which i understand along with the previous corrupted English version.

Everything is going fine with the repair, i restart, try to get into my bios but my keyboard no longer responds then as it goes past the windows boot image i get a blue screen of death each time reporting different errors.

note: at this point i can't get into windows nor can i access my bios.

i then abandon the fresh install on the old hard drive and try then to repair the my corrupt hard drive it self, only to find my keyboard still cannot be detected so i cant press any key to boot from xp disc.

my normal keyboard is a non usb standard plug in. so i thought i'd try a usb keyboard, still nothing.

I think its the bios, but how can i update flash it etc when i can't get into windows nor bios. :confused

Stick with the PS/2 keyboard. Don't try to update the BIOS it shouldn't be corrupted. Try unplugging the PC and taking the quarter coin size/shaped battery out for a minute or two then putting the battery back in, plugging in and starting. You should get a BIOS screen asking you to set the time and date. I wouldn't change anything else in BIOS but you should be able to tell if your keyboard is active.
