Can't download files, please HELP

    I need some serious help, fast. I can't download ANY sort of file. Webpages load just fine, but I've tried downloading audio, video, programs, you name it, I've tried downloading it, and absolutely nothing will download. The download box pops up, and just doesn't do anything.

    I've turned off my firewall, turned security down, and then off... nothing. I use Comcast highspeed internet, and its been fine until now. Can someone tell me what the hell is going on??

    what OS are you using? what program are you using to dl the files?

    I'm using Windows XP, and I'm using Internet Explorer to download, because thats all I can use. I can't download any programs.
