Can't Download Sandboxie 64 As Firefox Says It Has Malware And Blocks D/l

Hi, When I go to Download Sandboxie version 5.43 for 64 Bit, the (authors site) as offered here at: download https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/sandboxie.html - doesn't work as firefox says it contains malware and blocks it from downloading. I can't download it.

Also, there is no 64 bit version of Sandboxie to Download the Major Geeks version.

 

No problem here - must be one of your addons blocking it.

 

Thanks Earthling... Did you try with firefox? I only have one addon which is adblock plus and so I removed it and tried again and still says is malware.

It offered me to open the file so I did and downloaded it on my desktop and ran virus total and it says there are two malware in the file.

 

Aah, bit embarrassing this, FF had blocked it but I wasn't paying proper attention. Edge blocked it too. This is virtually unknown here

 

Thanks for your post. I wonder where that version has been readied at, as the sandboxie site stopped at version 5.333 and the version offered here is 5.43.. What site has that file as sophos doesn't have it on the sandboxie page.

 

I dl'd it with Opera and security on. Scanned with MSE and came up clean. I have an older install 64 bit from 2019 (531) which is a larger file.

 

That's neat that you can use an older install for Sandboxie. I don't know what version I had but on one of microsofts updates I had to update to the current release of sandboxie. It wasn't long ago, but just surprised you can use an older version because it was a microsoft update that forced me to update to the current release.

 

I'm concerned about being able to find Sandboxie now that Sophos is no longer supporting. I can't find a release of sandboxie where I can trust the software is safe. Maybe MajorGeeks will have the 64bit version to download. I want to have the latest release in case windows update forces it again.

 

Probably best to use the most up to date. I got the 64 bit from your link. It scanned okay with MicroSoft Security Essentials. I have now ran it to update. Everything's okay.

The developer of that Sandboxie release signed the driver with a certificate found on the internet. The certificate has since been revoked by the issuer.

 

Thank you for sharing that information with us. I hope Sandboxie will be available in 64 bit and with a safe program in the future. I would not feel comfortable surfing the web without
Sandboxie.
