can't download

i can't seem to download anything, have tried downloading firefox and nothing happened and same when i went to download maxthon - it won't even save attachments where i tell them to save go into the folder and nothing - why won't it download - i haven't changed any settings so not sure why this is happening

anyone with any ideas

 

Hmmm well. A few things.

1.What browser you using?
2.Do you have an antivirus software?
3.XP or vista?

 

am using internet explorer - was using firefox but that is now uninstalled
i have McAfee and my antivirus software
i have vista

it was working fine and then it just wasn't and i don't recall anything happening or changing anything that would cause this to happen

 

Ok well, Vista is not something i like to dwelve in, but maybe try a few things that i can think of off the top of my head.
1. Allow privledge access to IE but right clicking it and doing Run as Administrator.
2. Make sure your using the newest version of IE , i know the earlier versions didnt come with a download manager. Mozilla always came with one.

Ill look into this a little more though.:major
