    I am going to move this to software. More appropriate as I don't think this is a malware problem. :)

    Would there be a possibility that it can be a virus?

    Hard for me to say absolutely no possibility but I have a feeling it is not malware related. Try what I am going to suggest, and then if that fails await further replies. You can always come back to the malware forum at a later time.

    Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.

    Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
    to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

    Was it successful? Did that work or not?

    I did not get a "successful" message but I have this icon with little teal cubes on it on my desktop and if I double click on it I get a message saying "Are you sure you want to add the information in fixME.reg to the registry?". It give me a yes and no option to it.

    Well I clicked yes and it says it was successful.

    **Restarted my computer and its still messed up.

    scroll down to line 233 and click on the right hand entry "enable drag and drop"
    You will get a file downloaded with the extension .reg (the icon with the building blocks). Click on it and say Yes when it wants to be added to your registry. Reboot.

    If that does not work, start then run and type in
    Code:
    regsvr32 ole32.dll
    and press enter
    then type in
    Code:
    regsvr32 /i shell32.dll
    and press enter again.

    Check the registry and see if you have these two items
    Code:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
    "Start_EnableDragDrop"=dword:00000001
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
    "NoChangeStartMenu"=dword:0000000
