Can't eject flash drive, message indicates it is use

I can't eject a Kingston DT USB 101 G2 flash drive. The message indicates it is in use and to try again later. I keep trying, but the same message comes up. All programs and documents are closed and I still get that message. I restarted the computer and it still has the same message. I don't want to lose any data, but need to go from home to work and back with this information. I am worried if I just pull it out, that I will lose things. Any suggestions?

After you shut down computer, remove it.
In the future, go to Device Mgr and set it to "quick removal."

your system is infected with virus which is trying to access your flash drive and keeping it busy all the time. First go and purchase any good antivirus from the market install update and do a full system scan.

 

UMMMM... NO!!

AVG has a perfectly good FREE anti-virus, and MalwareBytes has a great FREE scanner. Spending money wantonly on "any" anti-virus program is not only foolish, but far less than thrifty. I have lost count of the times I have had to clean up after McAfee, WebRoot, and even that resource hog Norton/Symantec.

In the future, please do not be so rash toward a solution. And, ask QUESTIONS. We are here to help, not hinder.
