Cant find CD case and key of my win 2000

    Ok so Somewhere in the moving, the boxing, the throwing stuff away, Ive lost my case and package for my win 2000. Well, i want to install it on an old rig, and I cant find my key number. Any advice on this?
    Does windows give u another one? is there a way around it? what do I need to do?>

    Nope unfortunately I dont. So Im still digging thru boxes of junk, praying.

    i have xp home on this machine. would that work to put it on the other machine aswell. or is that a no,no. as far as M$ is concerned?

    If for some reason you dont find it, i would call MS and see what they say, the most they can say is, get lost. Since it is so old they might feel sorry for you. Good Luck. ed

    Only if it was a legit RETAIL copy and not an OEM version.
