Cant find directx 9 install file..

Yes im computer illiterate... but i did do a google search and i am weary of phishy sites and such... could someone please give me a link to download and isntald directx 9 im replacing my directx11 with 9 to run ff14...

I had already done that... but when i run dxdiag from the start menu it is still saying directx11 .... so im not sure if its working

 

its going to, directx 11 is your current version, what makes you think you dont have a working Directx install? Truth be told, 11 should supersede pretty much all of 9 anyhow?

 

well like i said somewhat illiterate... but i posted in the Games sectionand they told me to install directx 9.0c if i planned on playing games

and apparently ff14 utilizes directx9 not 10/11.... which seems to be the problem ...which after reading more seems to be a bigger problem than i expected with this specific game

that being said.. i was hoping to only have directx9.... but anyhow thanks for your help it is appreciated...

 

Ok, well the only true way to downgrade is to reinstall windows, theres tools online to downgrade but honestly i have never seen one work well, good luck!
