I can no longer access any web sites on my daughter's computer. No matter what URL we try, we get "can't find server" & "page cannot be displayed" messages.

Is there a file that can be downloaded to fix this? Something I could download to a floppy on my computer & load onto hers?

Her computer is a HP Pavilion 6460, running Windows 98.

I've posted this problem also in the "spyware specific" forum, as this happened after I tried to delete some of the malware that has taken over her computer. I don't know if the malware caused the internet problem, or if I deleted something vital while trying to fix that. That other message is titled "Internet conn fails; removing spyware." So far no replies to that, so I wondered if this is the more appropriate forum. Hope that's ok!

I apologize for the duplicate posts. I just wasn't sure if I'd posted in the right place. No one's looked at it over there, so I thought maybe I was stupid to wonder if the malware had anything to do with it. That's part of my problem. I don't know who to ask or what to do. Just thought I should include the background of what's been going on just prior to the internet problem.

Should I delete one of the posts? (Is that possible?) Which forum should it go in?

    Sorry again!
