can't get a signal

    Right, ( i'm not a pc wiz kid )

    I have set eveything up properly,i have a wireless nework card in my pc, and i have the modem in mine,in the other Pc that has a wireless network card aswell, aswell as the router. Bothe pc's have go those to little icons at the bottom of the screen saying there is a connection,but there is no signal.


    Please Help

    Check that you have the same SSID on all adapters and that they are on the same channel number. What OS are you running? If its XP then there is built in wireless support that can help configure your adapters.

    right mate. what you have to do is go into: controlpanel/networkconnections/localareaconnection, click on properties, highlight the tcp/ip box and click properties, check the "use the following ip address" radio button. now in the ip address box, input an ip of the same of your router with a zero on the end. . Subnet mask will now input a default value which you should leave as its fine. In default gateway, input the ip address of the router. Now radio check the "DNS server" and in the preferred box, input the same ip as you have done for the default gateway box as above. Now leave the alternate box blank and click ok.
