cant get em to see eachother.

ok, heres this problem.

Presario SR1620NX, Windows XP service pack 2
Presario 5000, Windows XP service pack 2
Evo N400C laptop, Windows XP service pack 2
Snap Server 1100
Linksys WRK54G
Verizon DSL


Heres my problem: all computers can go online with verizon DSL, but I cant get any of them to see each other, or the snap server. I tried the set up home network wizard, and no luck. any suggestions?

 

What Firewall product, and are they going through a router, or are you using ICS?

If File and Printer Sharing is not enabled, neither computer will be able to see each other.

1st question is, can either computer Ping the other, or do a Traceroute to the other?

 

the linksys is the router, and file and printer sharing is enabled on all machines. ive managed to get the laptop and the presario 5000 tro see and work with eachother. but, thre remaining presario is completely isolated from all the others. it says when I try to access the network, that the network is not available.

 

I know that you have a Linksys router, but what Firewall software are you running on the machines? You have to enable the Firewall on each machine to allow your "LAN" to be safe.

Check your firewall settings to make sure that the LAN for the Linksys (192.168.1.1 if that is it) to be allowed, and not restricted.
