Cant Get In To Gmail

I cant get into Gmail. I have apparently, forgot my pass word. I tried using all the pass words I normally use. No luck. Tried to reset the password. No luck there either. I cleverly left my phone in the office so I don't have that today. But even when I did (I've been at this for a week) the pass code they sent me would not work, or it would send me to send me to the second part of dual verification (or something like that). The first question was easy to answer. The second one was: when did sign up for this account? Now who would select a question like that? Certainly not me. Thinking about it, I could not remember signing up for this two step verification.

I have gone through all the recovery steps a couple dozen times. Doesn't Google have a chat service where I can explain what is going on and get some help. None of their links for help (and I've tried them all) lead to resolution; none of them exactly relate to my problem. A couple of time they have told me that they would get back to me, and they will reply to to my alternate email. That has not happened, all I get is the same links I have used before.

I NEED this account. There is a lot of stuff there that is very important to me.

Any suggestions?

Outside of this, Can't sign in to your Google Account, you are pretty much on your own. We aren't here to help people crack accounts (even if you double pinky promise it is your account).

You got nothing from google at your alternate email address?
Quite possibly you haven't kept the alternate email address current.

We had 3 gmail accounts. One we eventually turned over to the organization when my husband left and told them to change the recovery email and password. We made sure we did that because right before we turned it over, we changed the password so the new owner was locked out. We forced him to change it.
The 2nd gmail account I use daily and have everything written down.
The 3rd gmail account I created for my husband when he was planning to turn over the organization gmail to another. He mainly uses it from 1 computer. We have 4 computers in the house. When I sign on to this from a different computer, I get a notice at the alternate email address that the gmail account has been signed in from a different device.

I know the alternate email address works because accounts 1 and 3 have gotten notices at their respective alternate email addresses that the password was changed or the account was signed in from a different device.

There is no way to chat or phone gmail. You either get in by "remembering" your password or resetting it and have the info sent to a phone or alternate email. Since alternate email doesn't seem to work in your case, you'll have to wait until you get your phone.

Tried to reset the password. No luck there either.

What happened with that? As posted above resetting a password works. We've done it.

My alternate email address is my old work account, naturally I can no longer get into that. I no longer work there. You have to get into your account to reset the password. They give me a call on my phone and I get a code number to use, but that doesn't open up my account. I will just have to hope that eventually I will remember the password.
