    Hello all,
I havea Toshiba M35X-S161 Laptop that runs windows XP Pro w/service pack2 Intel Celeron 1.3GHZ480 MB of RAm
It will not let me get to the operating system screen. I have tried safe mode and it reboots. I tried installing my XP Pro Disk hit repair or recovery and it states that:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage.
    On the Bottom it states:
Problem seems to be caused by NTFS.SYS
    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
    Address F70c4D29
Base at F7073000 Date Stamp U1107eea

I also tried just taking out the battery and leaving it for about an hour.
Good old Toshiba never gave me a Emergency Reboot CD and of course I never made one. Does anyone know what may be the problem how to fix and where I can get a download for the reboot disk? to try and repair or recover some data.

on the screen where you select to go into safe mode select last known good configuration. it hasnt worked for me too much but it never hurts to try it.

i just tried to install windows on a computer and it came up to a blue screen and said something of that sort. turned out on this one it was a bad harddrive. im pretty sure majorgeeks has a program on their website to test a harddrive but i dont recomend something i have no experience with so ill tell you about one i have used. seagate has a free program on their website http://www.seagate.com/support/seatools/seatoold_reg.html you can choose to have a bootable floppy or cd iso. bootable floppy would be the easiest way to go if your not familiar burning iso's.

Since this is a system start up issue, you could press F8 to get into Advanced Settings during boot up and then select Last Known Good Configuration. The reboot and see if it completes a full reboot.

K.....antivirus software can also bring about this stop message. Have you made any changes to your AV recently?

So to echo Ironman's question, how did you make the CD? Did you burn it as an ISO?

Sorry it has taking me so long to reply..
I took it to a tech. He is telling me the Mother board and Ram is bad??
I may take it to one more place.
If that is the case can you recommend a good laptop in the $1200 range?
What do you guys think of the Macbook?
