I can't get into the sony viao's bios(pcv rx-360ds)to turn the onboard video off so I may use an upgraded card. I have tried the control alt del function at start up to no avail. When I gave installed the geforce 5200 64mb video card in the agp slot turned the viao on it says sony then gives me a black screen and will not continue to boot. Speaking to someone about this they stated the pc may be conflicted in trying to run both the onboard and agp slotted video card. Any suggestions on either getting into the bios to disable the onbard video card or suggestions on how to get this to work? I am currently running windows 98 if that helps, thanks.

The OS doesn't matter. Also, you don't open the bios with ctrl-alt-delete. Usually the bios can be accessed by pressing delete during POST. It should actually says "Press delete to open bios" somewheres on the screen.

If it has a picture it shows when it's powering up that is usually when you press the key. If delete doesn't work, try pressing tab. TAB usually will make the picture disapear and show you the POST informat, as well as tell you what key you need to press.

On a Sony it is probably F2. If not, it could also be f10, f11 or f12. My money is on F2. Sony usually wont show post info unless you set it in the BIOS, so simply reboot, tap F2 as it boots. Once you see Windows logo, it didnt work, so repeat trying other keys.

And if all else fails, hold a key, and keep restarting it with that key held, until it gives you a stuck key error. That should do the trick.

I have tried all of the suggestions posted to this point, I still get SONY the quick bios screen then the windows xp logo and it proceeds to bring up the OS icons etc. I have even gone through holding down as many keys as possible at one time to no avail. Any other suqqestions? Thanks
