im new at this so please talk slow and go easy on me ;)

ok so i got my domain name for free at http://www.dietzel1.com (through http://www.domainlagoon.com if you are interested in a free domain) and my host is at http://www.awardspace.com on the free hosting plan. and im useing filezilla as my FTP client.

i have my name changed my nameservers for my domain to ns1.awardspace.com, ns2.awardspace.com, ns3.awardspace.com, ns4.awardspace.com. and i did add my registerd domain at awardspace.com. and i did edit my FTP account at awardspace.com.

so next in filezilla i enter in my info as follows. address: mydomain user: myusername pass: mypass . and i can not get it to connect.

and yes filezilla is allowed by my firewall

    thx in advance

Talk slow? You mean you can tell how fast we type?

It probably has something to do with the security options (SSL, TLS, none, passive, maybe others). Try fiddling with those and see if you can connect. I had trouble connecting to FTP servers before and found the security settings to be the issue most of the time.

hehe talk slow was more of a figure of speech, as in keep it simple.

and i did try all of the security settings and i think i found the problem. it says it may take 24-72 hours for it to recognize the dns update... so i guess i got a while.
