can't get rid of yahoo messenger

    I need help to get this yahoo messenger off my computer.
    the tool bar and home page has bee changed to yahoo.
    I went to add remove and took out eveything from yahoo
    except the tool bar.This one won't uninstall,says missing
    file or something.?I also did a restore,I went back to
    yesterday,but still can't get rid of it.
