cant get some links to work

I am using I.E version 6 on XP home edition. Dont know whats going on but a lot of links that I click just wont work for me. For example download links to mirror sites.. I get a quick flash on the screen but then nothing more. Links that seem to take you to other pages within a site seem to work perfectly though.

Try doing a repair

 

if repair doesn't work, then try running ad-adware... though It does sound like some sort of corruption on the file level .

 

Check security settings in IE.. reset to default

Do you have a Pop up stopper running??
If so, hold down your control key when clicking on the link...

Its the pop-up stopper that is causing the prob.

1st attempt holding Ctrl down and BINGO!!!
