Hi, I have a Medion laptop (Vista) here that is stuck in a "system resuming from hibernation" screen on boot, then it asks for a password, which we don't know, (I'm fixing it for someone) I tried starting without the hard drive, reseated the memory, held down the power button 30 secs with no battery or power, can't seem to get to a normal post to access the bios to maybe boot from a repair cd. Any ideas?

Take out main battery then locate the CMOS battery and disconnect for 30 minutes, to reach this you will need to take off a panel from the underside of Laptop. Dont forget to earth yourself to remove any static from your body before touching inside of laptop. CMOS battery is a flat silver round object and it should have a small 2 pin connector to mobo, release this.
