Cant get to Google

    Why is it that one would not be able to get to google typing in www.google.com but be able to get to it using an IP address?

    It seems that there is a file that you can modify on your computer so that browsers can not go to specific addresses. I forgot where that file is but I know I have modifications to it before. I called my ISP but they said it nothing on their end.

    Any thoughts?

    If you are using IE, check your restricted sites and make sure Google isn't listed there.
