Cant get wireless

    I had my laptop connected to high speed internet like a desk top. Cox came over and hooked it all up for me when we got internet, and now ever since then I cant get wireless on my laptop no matter where Im at. I dont if they changed some setting in my computer when they hooked it up or what.

    What Windows version do you have?

    Check in the Network area of Windows to see if your WiFi on the laptop is disabled (may depending on laptop have a WiFi on/off button on or near the keyboard. Check device manager also to see if WiFi is disabled (network adapters)

    Do you get a listing of available WiFi networks on your pc (would be more clear here if I knew the Windows version, but you should have a WiFi icon in the system tray by the clock, click on that and do WiFi in range list)? if so click on yours and can you connect, may need to enter wireless security key?

    If you cannot connect what error messages do you get?

    Di you have a software firewall? if so what it be and if you disable it can you connect?


    Also call Cox ad they likely setup something, or have tgem come back out and do the joc correctly.
