Upon defragmenting a hard drive I was informed that a file could not be defragged...

    \WINDOWS\system32\lognhgh.dll

It is 56kb and is in three fragments.

Tried looking it up online, no luck thus far, thought I would drop the puppy in here and see if anyone knows what the sucker is and is willing to enlighten me... while I continue the hunt on my own.

I can't find any info on this file either, but I would reckon that you can't defrag it due to it being in use.

Have you tried defragging in safe mode? There's less of a chance that a process will be tying up the file that way.

Failing that, you might try a boot-time defragger such as PageDefrag which should defrag the hard drive before ANY file is in use.

Excellent suggestions! Thank you, I will try them!
