Can't install activeX, java, quicktime, etc.

I can't install Active X, JAVA, Quicktime, or anything like that.

I have:
MS Windows XP, SP2

I don't get an error message, they just seems to stop while trying to install.

I'm running CA EZ firewall and EZ Antivirus

Can someone help?

What do you mean 'anyting like that'? Are you installing IE plugins?
The only thing related to your problem which came to my mind is about your free space. Check if it's enough for the software installation.

Open My Computer, right click on drive C: and click on Properties. These things you're trying to install are really small programs and if you didn't have space for 'em, you'd be having all sorts of problems 'cuz your hard drive would be like 99.8% full and Windows would have been throwing warnings at you for a while now. Something is up with your IE security settings, or just the settings in general. Go to Control Panel > Internet Options. Click Advanced and Restore Defaults. Then click the Security tab and the Privacy tab and make sure everything there is kosher (I have my Privacy set at medium; choose Default level for Security). It could also be ZA is set to block these things, so look into that and your antivirus too....

Thanks HopperDave. I did what you recommended, and now I am able to run java and quicktime, but still not active x.

My hard drive used space is only 5.3 gb so I guess that's not the problem. I can't think of anything I 've changed on my computer recently. Any other thoughts?
