Cant install Java

I want to be able to play games and chat, and a lot of things seem to require the Java Runtime Environment, but I can't get it to install. I keep getting an error message that says:
Error 1606. Could not access network location.
http://jdl.sun.com/webapps/download/GetFile/1.5.0_0 1-b08/windows-i586//jcl50000.cab

What do I do?

Try going to www.java.com and on the right side you will see a manual download, click that then choose the Windows (Offline Installation) See if that works for you.

Okay....i tried that, three times, and each time it paused for a couple of seconds a window with "Alert! Operation timed out when attempting to contact sunsdlc1-19-vhost3.sun.com" I have a firewall up also, would that be affecting anything?

Your firewall shouldnt affect the download but you never know, so maybe disable it until the downloads finished.

or try this link to another location at sun http://jdl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=9992 works for me so if you cannot get it I can download and upload it for you to download.
