Can't install updated driver.

I play this game, and the Game Masters suggested I should download an
updated Driver for my computer


Okay, I download it, and I press Next, next, agree, etc.
And then it says installing driver,
then it says something about the driver cannot be installed, i press ok
then it closes.

 

What type of driver? What is your OS and system specs?

or did you mean how to use Everest?
Click "Report" at the top, click next to get to "Report Profile", select "Hardware-related Pages", click next, select "Plain Text", click "Finish". Then when it is done processing, click "Save To File". Save it where you want to. (I would use Desktop.)

 

It gave me a .txt file, How do i attack it, i cant find it x___X

 

Click "go advanced" in the reply box, scroll down a little way until you see "manage attachments", click it, browse to your file, click "upload", and close the window. Then submit the post.

OK, goto Dell and enter your Tag number or model number. Download their version of that driver. Sometimes, drivers are specific to their models.

If you have a problem finding what you need, post back with your full model name and number (Diminsion xxxx, Optiplex xxxx, Insperion xxxx, or whatever) (That motherboard number gave me a hard time last time I looked and it is easier with the model name and number)

That is the best choice because it tells you exactly what you have in your system.

Opps, that doesn't work right. LOL...Click the "Choose Service tag" button and then the link that looks like what I posted above. It will show you.

 

How do I know if it worked lol, It said restart, I restarted, and yeah, o___O

 

Two ways:
1) Open Device Manager: Start>Control Panel> System. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager, then click the plus sign in front of Sound, Video, Game Controllers.
In Device Manager, if there is a ? in front of your video device, that means no video driver is installed.
A ! means driver installation attempted but with problems.

2) Try out your game and see if it works right.

Edit: Also check your display devices. (Device Manager)

That's in Device Manager? If so, highlight it (just single click on it), press delete on your keyboard, and re-start your PC again. Does that fix it?
If not, post the model type and number of your Dell (or your tag #) and I will go look around at Dell and see what I come up with. Or you can go look for your full chipset driver at Dell, install, and see if that works.
