Can't Log In

Hi everyone,

I sure would appreciate some help. My computer crashed and when I reboot it I get the following message:

“Windows cannot load your profile, it may be corrupted. Contact your administrator.”

Is there any way to repair this?

The computer is a Dell Dimension 4300 512MB RAM, 1.8 GHz P4 – running MS2000Pro.

Does it happen in Safe Mode?

 

I'm not sure, I tried to convert back to the last known good set up - but that didn't make a difference. I just can't seem to log into my user account.

What should I do if I can log into "safe Mode?"

IMO--Look for a program called Wintools in Add/remove programs.

It could simply be a corrupted user account and those are tough to fix.

There is a program out there, but I've never seen it work.

Thanks for the link. After reading the 11 page readme, it appears that this might give me a better handle on what went wrong.

I'll post an update to let you know if this worked.

Unfortunately my user account was corrupted and UPHClean didn't solve my problem. I have started the tedious job of creating a new user account, is there a way to copy the configuration info from Outlook Express? Also where can I find the contents of my Outlook email folders from my old user account?
