Can't open attachments /links in IE

I am using IE as my browser. When I try to open attachments or links
I get a security alert box saying "your current security settings do
not allow this file to be downloaded". I do not use OE, I use a mail server: Fastmail.fm

I've tried a normal (http://) login to my mailserver and unchecking the 'Do not save encrypted pages to disk' box in the 'Advanced settings' tab of IE
options. I also tried 'Restore Defaults'. None of these actions worked.
Anything else I can try?

I could switch browsers to Firefox but I would like to keep IE as some
business sites seem only work with it. Regards,

 

Check your security security controls!!

With your browser open...go to Tools>Internet options>Security, and check out all of the settings!!
