Can't Open JSONLZ4 File.

I had to reinstall Firefox and i had copied the Bookmarks Backup file but i can't open it.

It has the extension JSONLZ4 at the end.

How can import or open this in Firefox?

With FF open, press Ctrl + Shift + B to open All Bookmarks.
Import and Backup -> Restore -> Choose File..
Browse to your JSONLZ4 File.

 

I tried that it does not seem to do anything.

 

What happens when you browse to your *.jsonlz4 and press 'Open'?
Do you receive a message box that says "This will replace all of your current bookmarks with the backup. Are you sure?"

 

No, a box pops up saying What should FF do with this file? Open Default is ticked but it wont open. It just keeps opening a blank tab with the same pop up box over and over.

 

Try typing - about:support in the address bar.
Next to Profile Folder - press 'Show Folder'
In your profile folder, open the bookmarkbackups folder and paste your *.jsonlz4 file.

Press Ctrl + Shift + B, Import and Backup -> Restore and see if your jsonlz4 file is showing.

 

There is something wrong with that extension. The extension on all bookmark backups is .json (at least on Win 7 and the versions of FF and Palemoon I have installed).
Make another copy of your file but this time edit the extension from jsonlz4 to a simple json.

I should have done more searching before posting. I see Mozilla has also screwed around with the bookmarks!
