I am getting messages when I try to print coupons that say that the coupon printer doesn't support my printer or it's settings. I've tried everything I know to do to make it work. I am using a Canon iP3600 that prints well for everything else so I am thinking a software problem. I seem to have no problem downloading and installing the coupon printer from Coupons.com but it still won't print. Has anyone else run into this type of problem?
I am running Windows XP Pro and Firefox 21.:confused

Why am I told my printer or my printer settings are not supported?
This message will appear when the Coupon Printer detects that your printer is trying to save a digital copy of its print job, or when the Coupon Printer is unable to establish a connection with your printer.

If you are sure your printer is not set to save its print jobs, then check to see that your default printer is set to communicate using the proper printer port. If your printer is set up to print wirelessly through your network, you may have the incorrect communication port settings configured. Wireless and network printers must communicate through the TCP/IP port and may require a manual IP address.

To configure your printer port (wireless or network printing):

Click the Start menu and select Control Panel
Double-click the "Printers and Faxes" icon ("Devices and Printers" on Windows 7)
Right-click your default printer and select "Properties" ("Printer Properties" on Windows 7)
Click on the "Ports" tab and select "Add Port..."
Select "Standard TCP/IP Port" and click "New Port"
Under port type, select the option for "Manual IP Address" and click Finish

This step should allow you to clear the error and restart the pending print job from your queue or resubmit the print request from your web browser.

Note: If your printer is connected via USB, this port setting should be set to the "USB Virtual Printer Port", which it will normally do automatically.

If you've verified that your port settings are correct and you are still encountering this error message, then try to print the coupon again using a different supported web browser to determine if an issue exists with your current browser or elsewhere within your system.

No, because I never use Coupon printer. Here is the FAQ section regarding that program http://www.coupons.com/couponweb/help/print/faqs.html Also what happens if you use Chrome instead of Firefox? Do you have Service Pack 3 installed? What firewall software are you using on the computer, what router make & model do you connect to with the computer?

Are you also trying to print to the printer over a network, with the printer connected to a different machine?

    Hi firestorm1,

Sometimes starting with uninstalling and reinstalling your printer driver is the best method to begin. You'll also want to make sure that your printer is not set to save digital copies, as plodr pointed out above. I've seen cases where old printer drivers installed on the computer can also cause this problem. If you have old drivers loaded for printers that you no longer have or use, try uninstalling them.

Make sure that you have the coupon printer installed and that it appears in the list of addons for your browser.

Hope this information helps. If not, please repost with your results.

    Thanks,
    Greg

Do a screen shot of the coupon, and use something like Cutepdf to print to a pdf, then print out that pdf. Coupon printer has been known not to be liked by certain AV/malware protection programs, because it is known to call home.

    Hi Brownizs,

Our coupons are sent directly to the printer, so taking a screenshot and trying to copy to CutePDF isn't really a solution. Also, please note that the coupon printer is a certified, Trusted download by Truste, the leading online privacy certification organization. While it might not be liked by some fringe AV/malware programs, it is certainly not because the coupon printer contains malware, adware or spyware. I just wanted to give an accurate accounting and appreciate your comments.

    Thanks,
    Greg

Coupons_Support, that is like stating that guns are not dangerous in the hands of crimminals. There really is no need for a special driver to print the coupons from coupon.com, so why keep using it.

Also yes, it does report back what coupons are printed by consumers, which ones they clipped and did not print, also what other sites they have gone to.

I refuse to load that software on any computer, because of the past history of the software, and still the current issue that it calls home, when people use it.
