I put in windows XP home disc.

    I deleted partition.

    I made a new partition.

All the crap finished then it said it needed to restart and it will continure istalling windows.

It restarts and nothing happens, and it takes me back to the beginning where it ask about partitions and stuff.

What is wrong? It's a pretty old computer, but I used to have windows XP pro installed on it.

Sounds like when its rebooting its booting off the CD again or something. Try removing the CD, or setting your BIOS to boot off the harddrive first, and then maybe it will continue the installation like it should.

That's exactly what it's doing, just going around in circles.

Once the first lot of basic system files are installed, either remove the CD if your next boot up device is the hard drive, or change the bios setting.

Either way, it needs to start from the hard drive or you won't be going anywhere.
