I'm trying to set up a server PC. I've put together a shitty computer from old parts and am looking to host a website on it. I'm trying to install XP home which I know is not ideal. but I'm using it as a test before I buy the proper software. Just trying to make sure the thing works. I get to the screen where it says press any key to boot from CD. I hit a key, and it says setup is inspecting your hardware configuration. Then... it freezes. I'm using an official disk, and it has only been used once before on one of the computers these parts came from a long time ago. what's the prob?

Possibly the old hardware you are playing with.

What are the details of your build?
