Cant reinstall Windows.. Hd definetly works

OK... I have a new hp Laptop , i am reinstalling windows just to clean the pc out.During the reinstall of windows I deleted all partitions & restarted the pc .. during the windows installation part were it searches for the hard drive it says " Hard disk not found " I got a bit nervous that the hd was bad so i ran a hard drive diagnostic & like i though Hard drive works fine. I was even able to create new partions and format the drive using Boot disk on a cd using ( fdisk ) and that worked fine.Ive also tryed downloading drivers for the hard drive but there are none anywere

Windows needs the SATA drivers for your motherboard. Are you using the HP Restore disks (if provided)? Otherwise, you may have to go to the HP website, pull up your computer's information, and look for those drivers. Then you'll have to provide them on floppy/CD/whatever the site recommends just after the Windows CD loads, by pressing F6 I believe.

If you provide information on your model and how you're installing Windows, I or someone else can provide more help.

 

TRY THIS
Go into your laptop bios and disable SATA hard drive support if currently enabled. Then reboot with your XP install disk and it should recognize your hard drive. I know you said it is a SATA drive, but try it anyway. I had the very same thing happen with an HP laptop and this fixed it.

jquib : What y ou suggetsed fixed the problem ! wow .. all that searching and customer service support and all i needed to do was hit up the bios and disable sata support lol .. Thanx
