After several failed attempts using microsoft MSE i heard that running bootrec /fixmbr would help before trying to use antivirus so i did and windows now wont start. I even tried going back into the command prompt to run /fixboot, i did and it said successful but when I restart:
It goes to the black screen and says that it needs to run recovery console or start normally. it will not allow me to start normally and only restarts if i choose that. I can only run recovery console and command prompt from the win7 dvd. automatic recovery failed multiple times.

trying to do this without having to wipe my hd clean. I have read the stickied Alureon removal instructions but i cannot even get into my desktop to download or run TDSSkiller or MBR check. I was able to download combofix to the desktop before the boot failure. please let me know what You can do for me. Im gonna get this ****er off my computer and save my work if it kills me :major

NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system

    Attached is fixlist.txt
    • Save fixlist.txt to your flash drive.
    • You should now have both fixlist.txt and FRST64.exe on your flash drive.

    Now re-enter System Recovery Options.
Run FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait.
The tool will make a log on the flashdrive (Fixlog.txt).
Please attach this to your next message. (How to attach)

    Now attempt to boot normally.

    You're welcome. :)

Whenever you get around to it, attach the logs from the How to Remove Trojan:DOS/Alureon.A thread to ensure your system is clean.
